This is a well-seen and well-executed photo. The composition is working really well by breaking up the space and keeping the viewer at the right vantage point. The shadow of the tree makes a very nice diagonal, allowing you keep the bottom of the photo very open. It also creates a beautiful tangent to the stone wall and the man's very slight contrapasto. The composition being executed well helps to keep the man at a distance, so as to keep the viewer feeling as if they're being watched, rather than simply looking at an old man on a bench.

I really enjoy the wide range of tones you have in the photo, deep, rich blacks against the hot white of the man's shirt and nice even midground midtones.

Street and city shooting very rarely presents an ideal shooting situation, and I say the next few things knowing that. I feel that the other figures in the photo detract from the directness and connection you seem to be going for, at least with where they're positioned. The people directly behind him begins a different narrative, and coupled with the big white bus behind, they act as a sort of eye-trap, keeping the viewer's eyes on them, rather than allowing them to move freely through the piece.

I go back and forth on liking and disliking the styrofoam cup on the fence. At one point it feels like another little eye-trap, but I enjoy because it gives a mildly mischievous feel to the photo.

Overall, excellent photo. Keep it up.
